It’s lack of Emotional Intimacy and a feeling that men just don’t get it. Women want support, not just solutions. Women want to talk, they want their partner to listen to them, validate their perspectives and show a little vulnerability and empathy.
The good news: you CAN learn the skills to cultivate emotional intelligence.
Join Craig and Debbie Lambert in November for an interactive, 3-part online webinar series designed just for men, as we explore practical strategies for creating more intimacy and connection in your relationship.
Basically, women want love and connection. For men, this is a little like talking a foreign language. At work, men are rewarded for solving problems, getting things done and working hard. So it makes sense that when they come home they apply the same skill set of being strong, logical and stoic it is perceived by their partners as emotionally distant, out of touch with their own feelings and the feelings of others, and even arrogant. Men tend to equate expressing certain emotions (i.e. fear, hurt, sadness) with being vulnerable and weak.
Research shows that the higher men go in organizations the more skilled they are in focus competitiveness and drive and the less skilled they are in emotional intelligence. It appears that we reward the skills at work that just don’t work all the time at home.
Men actually want to do whatever it takes to create love and connection, they just don’t know how. They were never taught and because they’ve been conditioned and rewarded for a different skill set they erroneously believe they can kill it at home as they do at work using the same skills.
We find that men just want the playbook. What do I need to do to make my partner happy? That is all I want. Just tell me and I will learn how to do it. They get frustrated because women often expect their partners to just know what to do…
If this sounds familiar, we have created this webinar just for you!
